Salinas de Levante, S.A. was established as a company in April 1958 with the aim of producing sea salt across its more than 135 hectares of land. Located in the Salobrar de Campos, in the southeast of the island of Mallorca, these salt pans are fed by Mediterranean waters from the natural area of Es Trenc beach, which are ideal for the natural production of sodium chloride.

The annual production of Salinas d’Es Trenc typically exceeds 10,000 tons of sea salt, which is primarily supplied to the island of Mallorca. In addition to providing natural seasoning and generating employment in the Balearic region, these saltworks are protected due to their undeniable natural value, particularly for ornithology, as many migratory bird species find in these waters the nutrients needed to recover from their long journeys.

Salinas d’Es Trenc is a natural landscape where a very specific flora and fauna have developed— a rare example of how human activity can create valuable ecosystems.
