Zoutman nv is an independent Belgian family business specialising in the production, processing, and packaging of sea salt. Its roots go back to 1990, when brothers Bart and Peter Sobry identified a growing demand for sea salt for its gourmet appeal and ecological benefits; in 1997, following the takeover of Eurasalt, Zoutman nv was formally founded. Headquartered in Roeselare, with a presence at the Ghent sea port, the company has become a global benchmark for high-purity sea salt, with an annual production of between 300,000 and 450,000 tonnes exported to more than 60 countries. The company is led by its General Manager, Bert Lamote.
